Rolex Red Submariner 1680 MK4 Dial from 1972

This has been my favorite watch in my collection, a beautiful Rolex Red Submariner reference 1680 from 1972. It has a thick and strong case, an amazing dial that features a light cream patina in the hands and hour markers. It comes with a “fat font” faded bezel that turned from black into a blueish/gray tone. The 93150 bracelet comes 11 links and 580 endlinks.
A rare and highly coveted Rolex model, the Rolex Submariner 1680 is also known as the “Red Submariner.” The red text on the dial of the Red Submariner is arguably its most defining and important characteristic. The first batch of Submariner 1680 watches, which were made between about 1967 and roughly 1975, had the word “Submariner” printed in red rather than the customary white. Collectors now place a high value on and a great deal of demand for red lettering on Rolex watches.
