Rolex GMT Master “Root Beer” 16753 from 1980

Up for sale is this Rolex GMT Master “Root Beer” 16753 with a beautiful brown dial with patina on the hands and hour markers, steel case and brown/gold bezel. The watch has a lot of interesting features. The Rolex GMT Master 16753 was noted as the “Clint Eastwood”.  Apparently, this is the actor’s favorite watch, he wore it all the time outside of films, and he wore it in numerous movies. Most famously, it could be seen on his wrist in the 1982 Cold War film Firefox. The handset is entirely made of gold, giving it a distinctive and stylish appearance. The use of applied gold indices on the Nipple Dial provides a unique touch as well. This watch is working perfectly, recently checked by my jeweler. The movement doing the job is the Cal. 3075, which was built around the architecture of the family’s base movement, the Cal. 3035. It increased the balance speed from the 19,800bph of the Cal. 1575 and introduced the now standard high-beat 28,800bph—the eight ticks per second frequency that gives all Rolexes made since the characteristic smoothly sweeping seconds hand. Alongside the uprated speed, the 3075 also brought the Quickset date function to the GMT for the first time. The case is fantastic condition, no significant dents or scratches at all . The bezel is wonderful in person, the colors stand out and it has little to no scratches overall. The dial has a beautiful patina and portrays the true beauty of a vintage Rolex. The bracelet is in fair condition, should fit any wrist size.
